Green Jade

Green Jade is a precious stone that is frequently used in jewelry, sculpture, and is added to items as a means of ornamentation. As you can see in the picture to the right, Jade was used for the hilt of this dagger.

The term Jade actually refers to two different minerals. Both have a similar appearance, but their chemical composition is different. Both Nephrite and Jadeite are called Jade. Although they are both considered to be true jade, Jadeite is more sought after and expensive due to the fact that Nephrite is more common.
