Moonstone

The State gemstone of Florida is the moonstone. Moonstone is a type of Feldspar. Feldspar is the most common mineral and makes up most of the earth’s crust. What makes moonstone a special and rare form of feldspar is it’s ability to to reflect light giving it a mystical quality when polished. You can recognize moonstone jewelry quickly because of it’s ability to play with the light as shown in the photo below.
