Can you tell where Tiger’s Eye gets it’s name from? It is very common for rocks and minerals to derive their names from the things in nature that they look like. The color of Tigers eye ranges from a bright gold to a deep brown. Tiger’s Eye is well known for its Chatoyancy. Chatoyancy is a property that some rock posses which makes them look like they shimmer in the light. Tiger’s Eye contains fibrous structures capable of scattering light. It is this effect that gives Tiger’s Eye it’s silky luster. Tiger’s Eye is yet another form of Quartz.
